  • Data entry and display

The image is of a prototype display/keypad connected to a prototype development system. The Data Entry Device (DED) comprises a 128x64 pixel backlit graphics LCD, a numeric keypad and a set of menu selection buttons.

Shown here is linked to a PC using cat5 Ethernet cable running TCP/IP at 100Mb/s. The DED can also be connected to the host via a serial port and can provide local control of digital devices using logic lines, power drivers or various communications protocols. In addition the DED can collect local data in the form of digital or analogue inputs.

All menus, screens and firmware is upgradable directly over the coms link to the device with no need to 'open-the-box'.
