The Raven bootloader is a PC based application that enables a PIC hex file to be uploaded to a target board via a serial port or an Ethernet port. Use of the bootloader requires a PIC based bootloader to be resident and a trigger event to have occurred enabling a connection to be made to the target board prior to upload commencement. The advantage of a bootloader is that special programming hardware is no longer required. |
